About Margaret

Margaret “Meg” Whyte is a Boston-based actor and singer, originally from Glen Rock, New Jersey. She recently graduated cum laude from Boston College in 2025 with a degree in Political Science and Music.

Meg has been performing her entire life, with a love for storytelling that began at age six. During her time at Boston College, she appeared in nine productions spanning both straight plays and musicals. A deeply process-oriented artist, Meg feels most at home in the rehearsal room, where collaboration and discovery drive her work.

In addition to performing, Meg has a strong background in technical theatre, having served as both Technical Director and President of her student theatre group in college. Since graduating, she has continued to build her experience in the Boston theatre scene through acting and assistant directing, and she is always eager to keep growing as an artist.

Meg has trained in the Meisner technique as well as the Alexander technique, and she finds the most fulfillment in embracing vulnerability in her work. She is a well-rounded performer who strives to capture honest, authentic experiences on stage.

When not in the rehearsal room, Meg works in nonprofit development.

To Quote the Faculty of the Boston College Theatre Department:

"Whatever the part calls for; Whether it be supporting, principal, ensemble, comedic, dramatic; Whether it calls for singing, dancing, iambic pentameter, or a British accent; Meg approaches developing her characters with enthusiasm, professionalism, and heart."

Testimonials

  • "A clear standout performance came from Whyte, who brought two juxtaposing characters— Rosalind and Ganymede—to life with the same sense of authenticity. The lead actress was able to maintain a vivacity and sense of modern realness despite the complexity of the Old English dialogue."

  • "Margaret Whyte, MCAS ’25, the evening’s first student performer, then took the stage, performing “Meadowlark” from The Baker’s Wife. Whyte’s impressive vocals captivated the audience, which broke into applause following the rousing performance."

"Whyte brought a tender warmth to the stage, her soft voice contrasting with the larger-than-life antics of the ensemble."
